WOLCOTT. John F. Tora, age 47, of 1448 Meriden Rd. Waterbury, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 15th 2007 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family and friends after an extended illness.
Mr. Tora was born March 20th 1960 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Armand and Christine (Manzella) Tora. He was raised in Wolcott and was a graduate of Wolcott High School class of 1979. He was employed in the Shipping and Receiving Depts. of Anstro Manufacturing and Larson Fastener/Edson Manufacturing. He was active in many sports and a coach for the Bitter McClusky Pub softball team. He was an avid NY Mets fan.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Yale New Haven Cardio Thoracic Team for the loving care that they provided to John during his illness.
Among his survivors are his godmother Catherine Genova of Waterbury, his Aunt Julia Drainville of Waterbury and his cousins John Sr. & Nancy Testa, of Wolcott, Marcil & Christine Courchesne of Naugatuck, John Jr & Doreen Testa of Wolcott, Donna Manzella of Waterbury, Dorothy Drainville, of Waterbury, Barbara Fiorante, of Southington, Toni Genova of Waterbury, Jim & Lisa Roy of Wolcott as well as his life long friends John Famiglietti and his wife Maria of Wolcott.
Funeral services for Mr. Tora will be held on Tuesday November 20, 2007 at 8:00am from the Casey ?" O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to the Church of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 ?" 8:00 p.m.
