Mr. John Bridges

January 14, 1957 — February 15, 2024

WATERBURY - John R. Bridges, age 67, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully, knowing that he was truly loved on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness.

John was born January 14th, 1957, in Presque Isle, Maine, the son of the late John Jacob and Elizabeth (Haggerman) Bridges. John grew up in Bethlehem, CT, where he spent many years working as a framing carpenter for various construction companies throughout the Connecticut area, but for the last 23 years, he has been overseeing the daily operations at All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury. John truly enjoyed working in the cemetery and took great pride in the care of the grounds and the descendants he cared for over the years there. What brought the greatest Joy to John was spending time with his family. He always looked forward to Sunday dinners together, loved seeing his children and granddaughter, and was looking forward to the arrival of his next grandchild.

Left to cherish John’s memory and honor his legacy are his children, Katie Francis and her husband, Eugene of Watertown, and Jacob Bridges and his wife, Katie of Middletown. He also leaves his granddaughter, Cassidy as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Water-Oak VFW Hall post 5171 at 866 Thomaston Rd Watertown. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, has been honored to care for John and the Bridges family.
