BROOKHAVEN, Miss. - Joan Doreen Vallee, 86, of Brookhaven, died July 12, 2024, in Jackson, Miss. She was born in Waterbury, Conn., on Oct. 3, 1937, to Frank Codienne and Rita Girulis Codienne. She worked as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Vallee was a faithful servant of the Lord and served in St John's Lutheran Church in Waterbury, Conn., for many years. While there she loved to sing in the choir, but she mostly enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends. She was never afraid to meet new friends. Mrs. Vallee found great pleasure in sampling new foods and trying new restaurants. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and shopping, especially for shoes! She was a stylish dresser, and her hair was always at its best when styled by Carmen Rials. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Douglas Vallee; son, Todd Saunders; and sister, Anita Baranowski. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Jordan and husband Rod Jordan; five grandchildren, Danielle Custer, Sheida Youssephzadeh, Vallery Templeton, Christy Jordan, Jonathan Jordan; and eight great-grandchildren, Aryah Custer, Ayrius DeSherlia, Kameron Custer, Colby Covington, Lainey Covington, Trysta Jordan, Aubrey Jordan, and Tucker Templeton; and nephew, Eddie Baranowski. She is also survived by a host of other loving family members and friends.
