WATERBURY – Mrs. Joan T. Nageotte, of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully at The Village of East Farms in Waterbury on October 31, 2022, just shy of her 91st birthday. She was the widower of Rene Nageotte.
Joan was born November 17, 1931, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Harold and Anne (Corcoran) Traver. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and was the owner and operator of Joan’s Luncheonette which was located on Hamilton Ave. Later, she spent several years working as a trouble shooter for General Data Com. Joan enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, traveling to the casinos, and was a member of the Naugatuck YMCA Water Lilies as well as long time parishioner and member of the Saint Francis Xavier Women’s Auxiliary. Joan was a diehard New York Yankee fan and loved UCONN Husky basketball.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children, Donald and his partner Kathleen Burns of Woodbury, Robert and his wife, Sheri of Waterbury and Sharon Barra and her husband, Mark of Waterbury, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren as well as her siblings, Dorine “Dawn” Wilhemy of Seymour, and twin sister Jean Walsh of Waterbury. She is pre-deceased by her son Raymond Nageotte, her brothers John “Jack” Traver, Harold “Boots” Traver, and her sisters Eileen “Sis” Shea, Ann Marie “Tootie” Walsh, and Barbara Mulhall, of Waterbury.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nageotte will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin Street Waterbury at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Joan's family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care at 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until leaving for church at 10:30 a.m. To honor Joan’s memory, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Center or the Saint Vincent DePaul Shelter are sincerely appreciated.
