Jennifer
Praskievicz
Apr 11, 1972 — Jul 20, 2026
Beacon Falls - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Jennifer Praskievicz, age 54, of Beacon Falls, says farewell for now to their beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter following an unexpected passing on Monday, July 20th 2026, at home. Jennifer will be remembered for the love, warmth, and joy she brought to all who knew and loved her.
Jennifer was born on April 11, 1972, in Killeen, TX, the daughter of Lawrence Jr and the late Sharon (Liner) McGeehan. Growing up as the daughter of an Army father, Jennifer had a spirit of adventure and resilience that shone brightly throughout her life. She eventually made her home in Connecticut, where she skillfully balanced her passions for family and work. For many years, Jennifer dedicated herself to the food service industry, delighting patrons with her friendly smile and exceptional service, especially at Paba's Restaurant, a place where memories were cherished over shared meals. Jennifer had a zest for life that was evident in her love of cooking, horseback riding, and she enjoyed good sushi dinners. She was also a trendsetter, always staying up to date on the latest fashions. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her daughters, Ashley and Kayla, as well as her beloved granddaughter, Gianna. Those family travel adventures created bonds that will forever be treasured. As we gather to honor Jennifer, let us remember her laughter, her kindness, and the beautiful adventures she shared with us. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughters, Ashley Shoban and her husband Tyler, and Kayla Praskievicz, both of Plantsville. She is also survived by her father, Lawrence McGeehan Jr. and his wife Merrilee of FL, her former husband, Robert Praskievicz of Southington as well as her siblings: Ryan McGeehan and his wife Rima of Prospect, Jeremiah McGeehan and his wife Cidalia of Maine, Zachariah Dunsing and his wife Emily of Texas, and John McGeehan of Reno, Nevada. Maggie Robinson and her husband Earl of Shelton and Hannah Boger and her husband Earl Boger of Australia. She also leaves her cherished granddaughter, Gianna as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and many friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Praskievicz will be held on Saturday, August 1st 2026, at 9:30 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705, to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St, Waterbury, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with the family on Saturday morning from 8:30 am until leaving for the service at 9:30 am.
