Jean Guy Joseph
Paquin
Nov 4, 1945 — Jun 17, 2026
OAKVILLE- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Jean Guy J. Paquin, age 80, of Oakville, shares the news of his peaceful passing on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at Complete Care in Middlebury after an extended illness. He was the widow of Barbara (Brazee) Paquin.
Jean was born on November 4, 1945, in St. Boniface, Quebec, Canada, the cherished son of the late Jean Marie and Lucille (Gelinas) Paquin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era, where he was stationed in Germany from 1964 to 1967. Jean dedicated over 42 years of his life as a toolmaker at Palladin Precision Products, contributing his skills and craftsmanship to the manufacturing industry. In 1988, Jean’s life embarked on a transformative journey when he met Bill W. Embracing a newfound sense of faith, he found solace and purpose, leading him to re-marry his beloved wife, Barbara, in 1993. Together, they shared a life enriched by love, faith, and service. Jean devoted countless hours volunteering in his church community at Christ Church in Watertown, where he led the Altar Guild, served on the Vestry, and actively participated in various outreach programs. His spirit of compassion was evident as he delivered furniture to those in need through the New Hope Anglican Church and generously supported numerous ministries throughout his life. Jean had a deep passion for life’s simple pleasures, whether it was watching NASCAR races, fishing, or enjoying the tranquility of nature while deer hunting—though he never could bring himself to harm such beautiful creatures. He delighted in gathering family and friends for breakfast or dinner, sharing laughter and conversation. Jean’s adventurous spirit often led him and Barbara on long drives, exploring new places, with a particular fondness for his treasured trips out West. Jean will be remembered as a man who demonstrated his love and affection through thoughtful actions rather than words. His generosity and caring nature deeply impacted those fortunate enough to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his daughters, Jackie LePine and her husband Paul, Tracy Grieves and her husband, James and Wendy Paquin, six grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, and Sarah Elisha LePine, and Sophia, Annabelle and Anthony Pernerewski, He also leaves his brother Dennis Paquin and sisters; Christianna Sullivan and Lise Paquin as well as many nieces and nephews other extended family members and beloved friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, brother Claude Paquin and sisters; Louise Paquin and Nikki Thompson
