WOLCOTT- It is with profound sadness that the family of Jamey (Phelan) Ahearn., age 55, of Wolcott, shares the news of her peaceful passing at Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by those she loved on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after an extended auto immune related illness.
Jamey was born on March 25, 1970, in Waterbury, the daughter of Christine (Peterson) Phelan of Wolcott and the late John F. Phelan. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and was employed as a hairdresser at His & Hers Salon in Waterbury for over 25 years and enjoyed the love and friendship of all of her co-workers and many many clients. Jamey was known for her vibrant personality and her unwavering passion for life, music, and art, especially her love for Bon Jovi. She found joy in attending countless concerts and sharing those great experiences with her sister and her close group of friends. For many years, Jamey resided with her beloved mother, providing steadfast support and companionship to her. What Jamey cherished most was her family and friends, valuing the time spent with them above all else.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children: Marly Ahearn, Zachary Ahearn, her sister, Kristan (Phelan) Pajewski, her brother, John A. Phelan with his wife, Doreen, her niece, Madison, her nephew, Thaddeus, along with other extended family and friends.
To honor Jamey’s life, friends and relatives are invited to visit with her family and pay their respects on Sunday, November 30th, 2025, from 2:00 pm until “A Beautiful Farewell™ commences at 4:00 pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Locks of Love which is a 501(c) charity which helps disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long term medical hair loss, such as the auto-immune disorder, alopecia areata. These children receive wigs due to medical hair loss throughout their childhood. Other recipients are cancer survivors and burn patients as well. Our family could not think of a more fitting way to honor Jamey's unwavering dedication to her life work that she loved so much.
