WATERBURY – Mr. James Wrenn, age 78, formerly of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5th 2023 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after an extended illness. He was the loving husband of Lana (Conners) Wrenn.

James was born October 6th 1944 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late William and Dorothea Wrenn. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and was the owner-operator of Wrenn Painting. James was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed fishing, painting, building model cars, swimming, and always looked forward to taking a trip to the casino. James was always happiest while spending time surrounded by his family.
Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, besides his wife of 37 years, Lana are his son, Thomas J. Wrenn and his partner, Sam Worobel of West Hartford, his daughter, Carolyn E. Butkevich of Waterbury, stepdaughters; Brenda L. Jeanette-Grifa and her partner, Edward R. Mastromonaco of Waterbury, and Traci M. Jeanette-Capaldo and her husband, Richard of Hamden. He also leaves his brother, William Wrenn and sisters; Doris Rogers, Donna Pomarico and her husband Antonio, and Dolly Bradshaw. James and Lana were blessed with 5 grandchildren: Arlene Bernardi, Nicole Jeanette, Anthony Maxwell, Krystal St. Hilaire, and Brandon St. Hilaire as well as his great-granddaughter, Sarai Averett in addition to many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his stepson, Robert B. Jeanette. The Wrenn family would like to both acknowledge and share their heartfelt thanks with the staff at Vitas Innovative Care for the love and care they shared with their father and family during his stay.
Funeral services for Mr. Wrenn will be held at a day and time to be announced. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, has been honored to care for James and the Wrenn family during this difficult time.
