WATERBURY – James A. Soden, age 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Jalbert) Soden.
James was born in Waterbury on November 28th, 1956, son of the late James and Betty (Herriman) Soden. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, he graduated from Kennedy High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He recently retired after working for the City of Waterbury at Kennedy High School for over 20 years. James loved sports and was a die-hard fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He was an avid music fan, and a talented drummer, he passed his love of music along to his children and grandchildren. James will always be a rock star to those close to him. His kind heart, gentle soul, and fantastic, quick-witted sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to love and know him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his loving wife of 41 years, Theresa Soden, James leaves behind his two children; Britt Soden and his wife, Allison of Naugatuck, Jake Soden and his wife Nicole of Waterbury, four beloved grandchildren; Rayna, Harrison, Xander and Archer. James also leaves his brother, Thomas Soden, his sister, Rhonda Soden, along with many extended family members and close, lifelong friends who he loved dearly.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Soden will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with the Soden family on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St Waterbury.
