Obituary

MERIDEN- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of James Robert “JR” Gorman, age 32, of Meriden, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Midstate Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Richelle (Rositani) Gorman.

JR was born on June 13, 1994, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the cherished son of James D. Gorman and Debra Tarantino. He grew up in the heart of Connecticut, where he attended Norwich Academy High School. He worked as a journeyman electrician, proud of his skills in electrical maintenance. When he wasn’t working, he shared countless memorable moments with his beloved son, Maejor, cheering for their favorite team, the New York Giants, whether watching games at home or experiencing the thrill of live events together. He loved his family more than anything. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife, Richelle, and his parents; James and Debra, are his son, Maejor Brown, his step- mother, Brie Gorman, his siblings: Michael Gorman, Joseph Gorman and Aurora Gorman, and his niece and nephews: Jaycion Gorman, Jaziel Gorman and Zahraliz Gorman. He also leaves behind many other extended family members and beloved friends.

A “Celebration of His Life” will be planned at a later date. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT, 06705, has been honored to assist the Gorman family during this most difficult time. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved JR to share messages of condolence, comfort, and cherished memories.
