Beloved Mother, and Grandmother

WATERBURY – Jacqueline Marticello aka “Chocolate Feather,” age 71, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, after a brief illness. She was a cancer warrior who beat cancer 14 years ago. She was the widow of Joseph Marticello, whom she was married to for 46 years.

Jacqueline was born January 4th, 1952, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Howard and Jeannette (Hannis) Lush. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and spent many years working at local manufacturing companies as a Quality Control Inspector. Jacqueline was proud of her Abenaki Native American Indian Heritage and was a self-proclaimed chocoholic, which explains her Native American name of Chocolate Feather. There was nothing more important to Jacqueline than her family, and she was always happiest while being able to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Joseph Marticello Jr of Meriden, and Krista Oyola of Torrington. Jacqueline was also blessed with 4 grandchildren; Ashley, Briana, Caira, and Zachary as well as two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Leo, and was looking forward to the birth of her soon-to-be great-grandson, Sakari. She also leaves her siblings; Edward Lush and his wife, Pat of Agawam, MA, and Richard Lush of Waterbury. Also several nieces and nephews.
