Obituary

LITCHFIELD- It is with deep sadness that the family of Jacqueline “Jackie” Anne Boulier Tiul, age 58 of Litchfield, shares the news of her sudden passing after her resilient battle with cancer on Monday, February 2nd, 2026. It brought her great joy to be surrounded by her beloved 5 children and husband as she entered eternal life. Her hope and trust in the Lord were a great inspiration through it all.

Jackie was born on January 20, 1968, in Waterbury, CT, the 12th of 13 children of the late Charles and Marilyn (Lewis) Boulier. She grew up embodying the virtues of compassion, love, and unwavering faith that defined her remarkable life. A graduate of Saint Margaret’s-McTernan School, Jackie pursued her passion for education at Tufts University, proudly earning her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Tufts University. Throughout her teaching career, she inspired countless young minds in her roles at Manorhaven Elementary School in Long Island, Little Brick School, and Northwest Community College.

Her dedication to teaching extended beyond the classroom, enriched by her transformative experience volunteering with the School Sisters of St. Francis in Guatemala, where she met her dedicated husband, Raul Tiul Cu. She had an adventurous spirit that took her around the world, creating cherished memories with family and friends.

Jackie also took every opportunity to be active in her local community. She was a pillar of the greater Litchfield community, with her extensive involvement at Papermoon Performing Arts, the Litchfield Prevention Council, Oliver Wolcott Library, Kidsplay Museum, and Litchfield Public Schools. A woman of profound faith, she served diligently as the Director of Religious Education at both the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church and the former St.Margaret of Scotland Church.

Her most treasured vocation and life's greatest joy was her role as a mother. She selflessly devoted her life to her 5 “babies”. Always encouraging her children’s success, she provided them with every opportunity, attended every sporting event, concert, or performance, and had a homemade dinner on the table every single night. Jackie was known affectionately to many as “Mom”, embodying a spirit of nurturing care that extended not only to her own children but to a vast network of friends, family, and the countless kids she babysat. Her capacity to love was unmatched and an inspiration to everyone she encountered. Jackie's legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication will be profoundly missed. May her soul find rest in Jesus, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy besides her husband, Raul, are her children, Ana Gabriela Chan and her husband, Gary, of Staten Island, NY, Mateo Tiul and his wife, Sam,of Cedar City, UT, Marilyn Tiul of Boston, MA, Ailyn Tiul and Cecilia Tiul of Litchfield, in addition to her goddaughter, Kristle Rodriguez, and all of her cherished nieces and nephews who she loved as her own. Jackie was also looking forward to the birth of her first grandson.
