WOLCOTT – With profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jacqueline Dawiczyk on May 26, 2025, at Bristol Hospital cradled in the love of her family after a brief illness at the age of 74. She was the widow of Richard Dawiczyk.
Jacqueline, affectionately known as “Jackie,” was born on April 24, 1951, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Albert and Jacqueline (Bridschge) Bellemare. A proud graduate of Wolcott High School, she forged a career in education, dedicating many years as a paraprofessional and teacher’s aide in the Wolcott school system. Her passion for nurturing young minds eventually led her to become a beloved childcare provider, where she touched the lives of countless children. Jackie was an active member of her community serving on the Wolcott Board of Education, leading Pack 230 as a scout leader, and tirelessly volunteering in her children’s schools. Her indomitable spirit shone brightly as a survivor of Multiple Myeloma, and she became a fierce advocate for medical trials, inspiring others to find courage in the face of adversity. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Family was everything to Jackie, and she instilled in her children the values of love and togetherness. A dedicated parishioner of St. Basil the Great Church, she was a member of the Ladies Guild, taught in the CCD programs at St. Pius Church, where she touched the heart and spirit of many. Jackie will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy are her children; Mark Dawiczyk and his wife Ruth, Craig Dawiczyk, Wendie Rodriguez and her husband Mark, all of Wolcott. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Cody, Ethan, and Lillian as well as her siblings Ellen Talbot and her husband, Michael, William Bellemare, Judy Bellemare, Diane Garafola and her husband, Dennis, and Lois Bellemare in addition to many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Bellemare.
