WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Joe Rodriguez, age 65 of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on Saturday July 12, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his devoted family whom he loved with all of his heart. He was the loving husband of Rosa (Castillo) Rodriguez.
Joe Rodriguez was born on December 11, 1959, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Miguel and Alejandrina (Carasquillo) Rodriguez of Orlando FL. He was educated in Puerto Rico, where he earned his associate’s degree, and later immigrated to the United States in 1986 to build a life devoted to raising his family. Joe was a dedicated healthcare provider who served for many years at Southbury Training School. He was known for his warmth, his quick wit, and his remarkable ability to make others laugh—a gift that brightened the lives of all who knew him. He enjoyed many passions throughout his life in Waterbury, but those centered around music and laughter brought him the most joy. A loyal New York Yankees fan, Joe also had a love for cars and a deep affection for animals. Joe’s legacy lives on in the stories he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. His life was a testament to the power of family, the strength of compassion, and the joy of simple pleasures. May he rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and never forgotten.
Left to honor and cherish his memory besides his beloved wife of 46 years, Rosa, and his mother, he leaves his daughter, Rosemary Rodriguez Castillo, his son, Joel Rodriguez and his wife, Jennifer all of Waterbury. Joe and Rosa were blessed with 6 grandchildren; Brandon, Jadon, Mikey, Joel, Jayla, and Leilani as well as two brothers; Roger and Michael Rodriguez. He will miss his faithful, four-legged companions; Koko and Kasper. He also leaves behind many cousins and other extended family members and many dear friends.
