Howard VanDuzer

THOMASTON-Howard Jason VanDuzer, age 88, beloved husband of the late Faith VanDuzer, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18th at Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck, CT.
Howard was born on November 13, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Howard C. and Lillian (Doran) VanDuzer. He was a graduate of Woodbury High School. Howard spent 27 years working as a toolmaker for Scoville Manufacturing, as well as Torrington/Timken Company until his retirement. He also worked several part-time jobs throughout his career at various manufacturing companies.
Howard was an avid stamp collector and enjoyed classic country music, civil war books, movies and documentaries and he loved The History Channel. He was a member of the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department and served in the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed stock car racing, working on cars, playing cards and camping with friends and could often be found at the casino with his late wife, Faith. Howard was well known for his unique sense of humor, his need to be needed and he was happiest taking care of his family.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his brother Richard VanDuzer and sister-in-law Josephine VanDuzer of FL, his sister-in-law, Joan VanDuzer of AR, his sister-in-law Linda Gomme of Terryville, CT, his sister-in-law, Peggy Knox of Torrington, CT, his sister-in-law, Holly Troy and brother-in-law, Gary Troy of Pennsylvania, his daughter, Donna Jenner of Hobe Sound, Florida, his son, Don Jenner of Wolcott, CT, his daughter, Laura VanDuzer, of Blue Springs, Missouri, his son, Christopher VanDuzer and his wife, Tara (Murray) VanDuzer of Naugatuck, CT and son-in-law, Anthony Ezzo of Cheshire, CT, 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Howard was greeted in heaven by his wife, Faith VanDuzer, his brother, Edward VanDuzer, his brother-in-law, Howard Gomme, his sons, Howard and James VanDuzer and his grandchildren, Anthony and Jessica Apruzzese.
Howard’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the end of life care provided by VITAS Hospice Care.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Edgewood Cemetery, Boundline Rd. Wolcott. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury has been honored to care for and assist Howard and his family during this most difficult time.
