WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Herman Ramiro Franco, age 73, of Waterbury, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Friday, January 30, 2026. He was the life companion of Carmen M. Casiano.

He wasraised in Guatemala alongside his family before immigrating to New York in 1968, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Herman spent the last 40 years of his life in Bridgeport and Waterbury, Connecticut, where he became a well-respected figure in his community. A self-made man, he thrived as an entrepreneur, owning several businesses including a taxi company named Kenny's in Queens, NY, andtwo salvage yards that he operated in both Queens and Bridgeport.
