Mr. Henry Sage

January 7, 1945 — December 18, 2023

Leesburg, FL - Henry Sage, age 78, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 18, 2023, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Dulin) Sage for 58 years.

Henry was born on January 7, 1945, to the late Stanley and Olive (Bartlett) Sage. He attended Croft High School. During and after high school Henry went to work and didn’t stop for over 50 years. He worked as a truck driver at Massimo Sand & Gravel, was a skilled auto body mechanic for many years, and retired as a truck driver at O&G Industries, where he worked for 22 years and was a proud member of Teamsters, Local Union 677. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. When not working, Henry was not one to sit still. He was often engaged in various home improvement projects, and his children relied on his knowledge and expertise when completing projects of their own. Upon his retirement, Henry, Pat, and their daughter, Paula, traveled all over the country in their motor home, visiting all lower 48 states over the years. In 2018 they left Connecticut for the warm weather of Florida. Henry’s interests and hobbies included classic cars, building model cars, trucks and trains, and the music of Johnny Cash.

In addition to his beloved wife Pat, left to cherish his memory are his children, Eric (Rick) Sage and his wife Tanya of Prospect, Cheryl Griffin and her husband RJ of Thomaston, Laura Sage and her partner Billy Masone of Waterbury, and Paula Sage of Leesburg, FL., and his granddaughters, Shelby Griffin of Wolcott, and Morgan Griffin of Thomaston. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, who were all in agreement that Henry was simply “the best.” Besides his parents, Stanley and Olive, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald Sage, of Bantam.

Services for Henry will be held at a later date, at the convenience of his family.
