THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY HELEN MAE ALBANESE
CHARLESTOWN, RI - Helen Mae Albanese, 85, of Charlestown, RI formerly of Watertown, CT passed peacefully on Sept. 24, 2020, after a short illness. She was the widow of Nicholas F. Albanese.
She was born in Waterbury, CT on May 21, 1935, the daughter of Theodore and Florence
( Lackey) Greatorex. She lived in Watertown, CT before moving to Charlestown, RI in 1990. She graduated from Waterbury local schools.
She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business in Waterbury, CT for many years. While living in RI, she took a position as a supervisor at Foxwoods Bingo Hall and Casino in CT until her retirement in 2002.
Helen loved animals, often feeding the wild; was an avid crossword puzzler and loved word games. She was well known by her nieces and nephews as a stylish and cool aunt. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. She played in a cribbage league, and attended bingo at various local halls after her retirement.
Helen is survived by her daughters Cheryl Kaiser, (Robert )of Charlestown, R.I.; Helen Albanese of Tucson, Arizona and her son Nicholas F Albanese ( Carol) of Harwinton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie Webster
( Fred) of Saunderstown, RI, Jamie Kaiser of Dallas, TX and Mia Magaletti ( Jay) of Tucson, AZ. Along with her great grand children Mackenzie and Callie Webster of R.I. and Max Magaletti of AZ. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Albanese and her brothers; Theodore, William, Donald and Walter.
Burial and a memorial gathering will be held in CT at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown on Nov. 6th at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to acknowledge the dedication of doctors, nurses and especially Beacon Hospice, who supported the family through this difficult time.
