THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF HEDWIG ALEKSINAS.

WATERBURY - Hedwig Aleksinas, age 96, of Waterbury, died on January 11, 2022 at Saint Mary's Hospital after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Bronis Aleksinas for over 60 years.

Hedy was born on April 05, 1925 in Gardner, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Zyznieski) Lubinski. She graduated local schools, went on to work as a CNA and then retired from Soutbury Training School. Hedy enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion in Wolcott, CT, doing puzzles, reading James Patterson novels, watching crime shows, loved to dance, enjoyed polka music and trips to Mohegan Sun casino. More than anything else, Hedy loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; Carol Lokites and her fiancé, Rodney Lunsford with whom she lived with for 10 years, Theresa and Michael Carr, Sandra and Bob Houlihan, Bronis Aleksinas Jr, and Edward Aleksinas. She also leaves her brother Johnny Lubinski and his partner Susan Senter. She leaves behind many grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Hedwig was predeceased by her daughter, Cecilia Forget and son-in-law, Leo Forget along with 6 of her siblings.

Relatives and friends may visit with Hedy's family on Thursday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT. 06705. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown, CT. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services regardless of your current vaccination status.
