Mr. Gene Edward Blair (78) of Waterbury, CT. died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023. He was the husband of the late Ethel J. (Clinton) Blair.
Mr. Blair was born on June 3, 1945, in Wrightsville, GA. He was the son of the late Fred and Clydie (Davis) Blair. He attended Mount Olive A.M.E Zion Church in Waterbury, CT. Mr. Blair was employed until his retirement, with Rex Forge J.J. Ryan Corporation of Plantsville, CT. as a Plant Manager for over 30 years. He loved his job. He would be the first one on shift and the last one to leave 6 days a week. Mr. Blair enjoyed singing with family in the group, The Gospel Five. He was also a die-hard Cowboys football fan. Most of all, Mr. Blair loved spending time with his family, especially holding events in the backyard (clubhouse).
Gene leaves behind to cherish his most precious memories, Five beloved Daughters: Janelle (Jamell) Parish Philyaw of Fl, Nikkita (Brian) Wright of Meriden CT, Ladora Sanders and ; Danette Keel-Broome of Charlotte, NC and Romona (Michael) Barnes of Waterbury, CT; One Sister: Readie Dudley of Meriden, CT; Two Brothers: Perlie Blair of Wrightsville, GA and Harry Parrish of South Meriden, CT; Three Brother In-Laws: Eugene Williams Sr of East Dublin, GA, Harroll (Eva) Curry and Humes Perry of Waterbury, CT; Three Sister In-Laws: Carol Curry and Diana Curry of Bristol, CT and Eliza Ann (James) Morrison of SC; Two Nephews: Edward (Freda) Blair of Hartford, CT., Curtis (Kim) Blair of Wrightsville, GA.; One Special Brother; Ervin Mention of Middletown, CT. Gene is survived by Twenty-Six Grandchildren, Thirty-Five Great Grandchildren, One Great Great Grandchild and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Mr. Blair was predeceased by Two sons: Darrell Rogers Blair and Wilbert F Clinton Jr.; Two Brothers: James Edward Blair and Verlion Blair; Four Brother In-Laws: Jimmy Elbert, Eddie Dudley Sr, James Curry and Carroll Curry; Three Sisters: Mildred Dixon, Rosa Ella Williams and Mary Elbert; Three Sister In- Laws: Mary Alice Blair, Carolyn Parrish and Esterlena Perry.
