Gail A.
Pfeifer
Mar 12, 1952 — Nov 3, 2026
NEW MILFORD — It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Gail A. Pfeifer, age 74, of New Milford, say farewell for now to their beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, following her peaceful passing on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the widow of Richard Pfeifer
Gail was born March 12th 1952, in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of the late Donald C. and Elizabeth (Baker) Gay. She received her associate's degree in mechanical engineering from Naugatuck State University and dedicated many years of her life as a mechanical engineer at Pitney Bowes, where her passion for innovation shone brightly until her retirement. She found joy in her work, but it was the love she shared with her husband, Richard, that truly defined her life. Married in 1981, their lives were intertwined, filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and taking long motorcycle rides, experiences that brought them closer and filled their hearts with joy. Sadly, Richard passed away in 2004, leaving a void in Gail’s life that was never fully filled. One of Gail's quirks that brought a smile to those around her was her joy in online shopping, particularly her daily anticipation of visits from the Amazon driver. Her light-hearted spirit and love for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter Barbara Blanchard of New Milford, her brother Donald Gay Jr and her grandchildren Miranda Johnson, Megan Luchetta, Davide Luchetta, and Alexander Davis. Gail was also blessed to have 7 great-grandchildren, who brought so much joy to her life.
A celebration of life to honor Gail will be held at a date and time to be announced soon. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705, has been honored to care for Gail and her family during this difficult time. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved Gail to share messages of condolence, comfort, and cherished memories. Please visit the funeral home's tribute page at www.caseyfunerals.com to connect with the family or honor their loved one’s memory with floral arrangements and other gifts of condolence.
