Obituary

OAKVILLE – With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Mrs. Gail (Miller) Daddona, age 87 of Oakville, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of John “Jack” M. Daddona Sr., to whom she’s been married to for 67 years.

Gail was born on June 27, 1938, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Vought) Miller. Gail was proud that she grew up in Woodbury and was a graduate of Woodbury schools. Gail married Jack in 1958 and moved to Oakville, where she lived for the rest of her life. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for over 40 years. Gail's greatest joys came from spending time with her beloved husband, Jack. They shared a passion for country line dancing, a cherished routine they enjoyed together three times a week for 38 years. Gail had a spirited love for adventure. She created countless memories traveling alongside her husband on their private airplane, embarking on 25 trips to Florida, visiting the birthplace of their aircraft in Texas, and enjoying weekend lunch excursions to various states with friends from their flying community. She also enjoyed riding on the back of their Harley-Davidson motorcycle up until age 82. Jack and Gail traveled around the Tri-State area with other riders, including an annual trip to Lake George, NY. In addition to her travels, Gail was a talented member of the Wagoneers country music band, where she played guitar. She loved hosting pool parties in her backyard, surrounded by family and friends, making her home a welcoming haven for all.

Left to cherish and honor Gail’s memory beside her beloved husband, are her two children; Jean Rainone (Paul) and John Daddona Jr. (Sherry), her grandchildren; John A. Daddona (Erin), Nicholas Daddona (Lauren), Jillian Porter and Ryan Rainone (Stephanie), 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild that is due to arrive in April. Gail also leaves her sister, Nancy Benson, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
