Mr. Gaetano "Guy" DiMichele

July 7, 1930 — August 17, 2023

OAKVILLE – Gaetano (Guy, Don) T. DiMichele, age 93, of Oakville, passed away peacefully at his home on August 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Delores “Laurie” (DiNunzio) DiMichele, for over 63 years.

Gaetano was born on July 7, 1930, in New Britain, CT, the son of the late Nicola DiMichele and Concetta “Jenny” Canale DiMichele. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Following his war service, he rejoined the CT Army National Guard and ultimately achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued his commitment to veterans beyond his active service years and was a proud member of the VFW where he found camaraderie and purpose among his fellow VFW members, advocating for veterans and their families. Guy was a Justice of the Peace and served as a Jury Commissioner for several years. Known for his remarkable sense of humor, Guy had the ability to light up a room with his jokes and playful demeanor. His laughter was contagious and endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable individual, let us carry forward his values of family, humor, dedication, and respect. He will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to know and love him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children; Karen DiMichele and her husband, David Edgehill of Marstons Mills, MA., Nicholas DiMichele, Lisa DiMichele and her husband, Scott Prickett, of Hyannis, MA, and Mark DiMichele and Leigh Jenkins of Watertown, seven grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Zambero, Danielle (Travis) Foumier, Kayla DiMichele, Mackenzie DiMichele, Desiree (Mike) Scarfata, Jennifer (Paul Petrov) Prickett, and Jennifer Edgehill, and six great-grandchildren, Elise, Hadley, Alexis, Kaleb, Madeline, and Leo.

The DiMichele family would like to thank the compassionate nurses and aides who cared for Guy.
