OAKVILLE - Francis "Butch" Giannini age 82 of Venice FL, formerly of Oakville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by the love of comfort of his family. He was the devoted husband of Concetta (Zibello) Giannini.
Francis was born on April 1, 1939 in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Domenic and Josephine (Martino) Giannini. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Francis worked for CL&P as a maintenance mechanic for many years. He was a loyal member of the Watertown Volunteer Fire dept, coached little league softball and loved all sports especially, bowling, softball, baseball, golf and basketball. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Red Sox and never missed a game on TV. He looked forward to his glass of Merlot and also loved to listen to the Oldies but Goodies. His greatest joy in life was is family. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife of 58 wonderful years, connie are his children; his daughter, Nancy Genarelli and her husband Robert and his son, Francis Jr. Francis and Connie were blessed with three grandsons; Evan and his fiancé, Tori Petryshyn, Quinn and Corbin and two great grandchildren; Julien and Aryelah as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings; Michael, Lillian, Lucille and Charles.
Funeral services for Mr. Giannini will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary Magdalen Church Buckingham St. Oakville at 11:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with the Giannini family on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT.
