OAKVILLE – It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Francine (Butler) Demirs, age 78 of Oakville, shares the news of her passing on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Robert F. Demirs.

Francine was born in Bristol CT on August 8th, 1947, the daughter of the late James Francis and Alice Edith (Wolfe) Butler. Francine devoted over 20 years of her working life as an aide at the Southbury Training School, providing steadfast and untiring support to those special clients. Before that, she worked at Ketchum Wholesale and ESP in Watertown. Throughout her life, her commitment to helping others and her nurturing spirit were evident in everything she did. A loving wife to her husband, Robert, of 58 years, and a proud mother to her three children, Ryan, Christina, and Lisa, Francine cherished her family above all else. Francine found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was passionate about hidden object puzzles and took great comfort in the company of her two adored dogs, Rosie and Dakota. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of her loved ones, particularly her three children, who carried forward her legacy of compassion and resilience. The images of her laughter, her joyful spirit, and the love she shared with her family will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Our family thanks you Mom, for every prayer you uttered for us, for the many sacrifices you made for us, for thousands of hugs you shared with us and the unending love you instilled in all of us.

Left to cherish and honor Francine’s memory besides her beloved husband, Robert are her children; Christina Demirs and her dogs of Middlebury and Ryan Demirs of Oakville, in an addition to her beloved grandson, Tyler Robert Demirs. She also leaves her brother, Chris Butler and his wife Jan of Illinois, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Francine was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Monique (Demirs) Carroll, and her siblings: Bev Butler, Coleen Butler French, and Timmy Butler.
