Mrs. Frances A. Dunn

WATERBURY - With profound sadness the family of Frances A. (Murphy) Dunn age 78, share news of her peaceful passing on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Waterbury Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of George Dunn to whom she was happily married for 58 wonderful years.

Frances was born on January 7, 1947 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Charles “Bud” and Rita (McCarthy) Murphy. A lifelong Waterbury resident, she was educated in local schools and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School. Fran worked as a dental technician for most of her working life but spent most of her time caring and loving her large Irish family and raising a family of her own. She loved to cook and knit and enjoyed church bingo every Wednesday night. Frances possessed a generous heart which provided unconditional love and made the world a better place. Her legacy will live on through the stories she told, the lessons she taught, and the loved that she shared. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family and her faith.

Frances is survived by her husband, George of Southington, her daughter Kimberly Dunn and son, Thomas Dunn both of Waterbury. She also leaves her two granddaughters who were the light of her life; Alivia and Gianna, her brother Charles Jr of Waterbury and Martha and James Gentile of Wolcott.

Funeral services for Mrs Dunn will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with the Dunn family from 9:00 am until the service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
