WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Esther Irene (Smith) Fasano, age 92, of Waterbury, share the news of her peaceful passing on Monday, July 21th, 2025, in the comfort of her home
Esther was born in Portland, ME, on December 8, 1932, to the late Clayton and Lizzie (Harmon) Smith. She worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Timex and Bendix which is now Allied Signal. She found immense joy in the simplicity of life, particularly her favorite pastimes, which included her cherished trips to the casino and her unwavering support for UConn women's basketball and the New York Mets. Nothing brought her more happiness than the time she spent with her family. She was a guiding light in the lives of her loved ones, especially her cherished grandchildren, with whom she made countless memories.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children, Ernest (Sharon) Dyer, Daniel (Cheryl) Fasano, Donna Boucher, Amber Shadrick, and Penny DiMichele, her beloved grandchildren, Justin, Ralph, Christie, Nicholas, Jessica, Joseph, Jeff, Josh, Justin, Danielle, and Marissa, several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, along with extended family and friends. She was predeceased by all of her siblings, and son-in-law Albert Shadrick.
All services for Esther will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
