Mr. Ernst Georg Reisinger

November 2, 1955 — July 8, 2025

Bristol

BRISTOL - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Ernst Georg Reisinger age 69 of Bristol, share the news of his peaceful passing on Tuesday July 8, 2025 at the Shady Oaks Assisted Living of Bristol. He was the devoted husband of Karen (Reihl) Reisinger.

Ernst Reisinger was born on November 2, 1955, in Vienna, Austria, the beloved son of the late Ernst and Edith (Rieger) Reisinger. In February of 1978, he immigrated to the United States, first settling in Washington before making his home in Connecticut following his marriage in 2009. Ernst trained in Vienna to become a master chef, a skill he carried with him throughout his life and shared generously with others—especially through his famously delicious Christmas dinners. He began his career in Illinois and later found joy as a tour bus driver for Peoria Charter, traveling across the country, taking in its beauty, and forming countless connections along the way. After relocating to Connecticut, he continued his work in transportation with Dattco Bus. A gifted musician, Ernst played the piano, accordion, and harmonica, and was especially known for his rich singing voice. Music, laughter, and hospitality were central to his life. He loved to entertain, tell Rodney Dangerfield jokes, and bring joy to those around him with his warmth, wit, and ever-present kindness. Ernst will be remembered not only for his many talents but for the way he made others feel—welcomed, uplifted, and cared for. His absence leaves a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his devoted wife of 16 years Karen, who spent everyday by his side during his illness and his daughter, Jenny Kimble and her son; Aiden Huggins of Illinois. Ernst’ family would like to acknowledge and offer their heartfelt appreciation to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, therapy extenders, and CNA’s at the Hospital for Special Care where he was a patient on four different occasions. They also wish to acknowledge Tyson and the extremely caring staff at Shady Oaks in Bristol. Even though Ernst was there for less than a week the staff there made him and his family feel welcomed and like members of their own family.
