WATERBURY – Emily (Barkauskas) Pepin, age 102 of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Civita Care Center in Cheshire on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
Emily was born in Waterbury on March 3, 1920, daughter of the late John and Anna Barkauskas. She graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and then went on to work for many years as a Unit Clerk at Waterbury Hospital until she retired. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was also an outstanding baker and loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family. Emily loved spending time with her family, especially with her great grandson, Sam, whom she loved with all her heart. Emily and her family were especially grateful for the full life that God gave her. She was truly unique in so many ways and she made the world a better place for all of us, and we are all blessed and thankful to have had her in our lives. Please remember her in your hearts, her family will forever hold her in theirs.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughter, Elaine Sullivan and her husband, Dennis, her devoted grandchildren; Ryan (Kacey) Sullivan, and Meghan Sullivan, great grandson, Sam P. Sullivan, who affectionally called her Gramma G.G., nieces; Marie (Stuart) Mandell and Sandy Noble, and nephew, Barry Barkauskas. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy Pepin, and her brother, Albert Barkauskas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pepin will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with the Pepin family on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m.at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
