Mrs. Elly Stammer

August 18, 1928 — October 29, 2025

OAKVILLE- It is with profound sadness that the family of Elly (Kiesel) Stammer, age 97, of Oakville, shares the news of her peaceful passing on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Harry Stammer.

Elly Stammer was born on August 18, 1928, in Naukaimis, Lithuania, the sixth of seven children to the late Adolf and Mathilde (Kelat) Kiesel. Raised in a close-knit family, she grew up with a strong sense of faith, hard work, and devotion to family — values that would guide her throughout her life. In the years following World War II, Elly immigrated to Germany, where fate led her to meet the love of her life, Harry. Together they began their family and built a life founded on love, courage, and shared dreams. In May of 1957, seeking new opportunities and a better future, Elly and Harry, along with her brother and his family, immigrated to the United States, a journey that spoke to their determination and faith in what lay ahead. Once settled, Elly found work as a chef for the executives at the Timex Corporation, where her skill and care for others shone through in every meal she prepared. At home, she continued to express her love through cooking and baking. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of family favorites and the warmth of her generous spirit. Elly also possessed a gifted green thumb, tending to her gardens with the same devotion she gave to her family. Her flowers bloomed in vivid color, and her vegetable gardens flourished — a living reflection of her nurturing heart and patient hands. Above all, Elly’s greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to raising her children and later, her beloved grandchildren, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the traditions she inspired, a lasting testament to her strength, faith, and the beauty of her Lithuanian roots.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories are her two children; Irmgard Belanger, and Joachim Stammer, her beloved grandchildren; Stephen (Joan) Belanger, Marc (Wendy) Belanger, Colin (Nicole) Stammer, Jared (Elizabeth) Stammer, and Adrienne (Sean) Pelletier, along with 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Elly was predeceased by her 6 siblings, son-in-law, Jerry Belanger, and daughter-in-law Martha Stammer.
