Obituary

WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the beloved friends of Elizabeth “Betty” C. Miller, age 79, of Waterbury, share the news of her departure from this life for a better one, with no pain or worries on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Waterbury Hospital’s Hospice Unit from an aggressive and painful form of pancreatic cancer.

Betty was born on September 20, 1946, in Waterbury, the only child of Edward and Charlotte (Raynor) Miller. Betty attended local schools, growing up and spending her entire life in Waterbury. Betty would go on to work, and retire, as a manager at Sammon’s Communications Cable Company. Her restless spirit then brought her back to work as a part-time employee at Stop & Shop for approximately 10 years. Betty had a deep love for singing and was in a band in the 1960’s, singing the oldies but goodies. She was a natural athlete and excelled at numerous sports. One sport she loved most was golf where she became very good at, excelled, and actually achieved a 12 handicap.

Betty’s friends would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Waterbury Hospital, particularly those in the Hospice Unit, for the attention and genuine care that they provided for Betty in her final weeks.

Left to honor and cherish her memory and legacy is her dear friend of over 50 years, Angela Baker of Waterbury, who was like a sister to her, and Kelly Cronin of Waterbury, who loved her like family. She was predeceased by her parents Edward Charles Miller and Charlotte Raynor Miller.

Services for Ms. Miller will be held privately.
