Elizabeth H. DeVivo, 87, of Kensington, CT, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. Born in New York City on December 22, 1937 to Patrick and Pauline Horgan, Elizabeth lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, generosity, and spirited determination.
A devoted wife, Elizabeth shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband Emil “Moe” DeVivo. She was the proud mother of two children: Craig DeVivo and Caroline Klotz. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lee Marino and her nephew Donald Carfi.
Elizabeth was known for her feisty spirit and her unwavering kindness. She had a gift for making others feel cared for, often expressing her love through cooking. Whether it was preparing pizzelle cookies for friends or hosting family gatherings, she was always ready to lend a hand and warm a heart. She welcomed family to live in her home when they needed a place to stay.
Her passions included boating in Mystic CT with her family, skiing, gardening, creating beautiful Christmas wreaths, crocheted clothing/accessories and crafts that she often gave away to friends and family and creating delicious meals for those she loved. Elizabeth’s presence was a source of comfort and strength, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
