WATERBURY- Edward John Riordan age 72, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at St Marys Hospital on Saturday January 1st 2022. He was the beloved husband of Rose Marie (St. Pierre) Riordan.
Edward was born June 6th 1949 in Champaign Illinois, the son of the late James and Louise (Lawrence) Riordan. Being the son of a Air Force Master Sergeant, Edward spent many years moving around the country and settled in Wallingford where he was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School. He later attended Central Connecticut State University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and also served in the National Guard. Edward worked as a printer at Curtis Manufacturing until his retirement. He was a history buff and enjoyed true crime, studying psychology as well as playing games on his computer and telling jokes. In his 40s, he became an avid jogger and eventually completed a marathon. Ed will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy, besides his wife of 39 years, Rose Marie are his children: his sons, Ryan Riordan of Georgia, Alex Riordan of New Haven, and his daughter, Emily Riordan of Waterbury.
A Memorial Gathering for Mr. Riordan will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services regardless of your current vaccination status.
