Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather
PLANTSVILLE-Edward “Boots” Kenney, 90, beloved husband of Beverly (Larrivee) Kenney for 66 wonderful years, passed away peacefully with his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandsons by his side on Monday, October 30, 2023. Edward was born in Waterbury on March 15, 1933, son of the late Edward Francis and Jeanne (Pogorzelski) Kenney. He was an ATT/Western Electric employee for over 40 years, retiring in 1991.
Edward was an avid UCONN men’s and women’s basketball fan. He loved the New York Giants and followed them from the Polo grounds to Yankee Stadium to Yale Bowl to the Meadowlands. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends in the Florida water and sunshine. A swimmer and athlete his entire life, he loved coaching youth baseball, basketball and swimming.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beverly, his daughters, Kimberly and her husband Matthew Baker, Kristin and her husband, Steven Pelczar and his grandsons Brian, Nicholas, Kyle and great-grandsons, DJ and Camryn. Edward was predeceased by his brother Vincent. He treasured his family more than anything else.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. at St Anthony de Padua Church in Litchfield Ct., on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Burial will be held at the Family’s convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
