WATERBURY- With hearts of profound sadness, the family of Dwight Harry Gregory shares news that he entered his eternal life on March 20, 2026, surrounded by his closest family and friends.
Dwight was born on July 12, 1933, the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Wooster) Gregory. Besides his wife and three daughters, he was most proud of his military service and designation as a United States Air Force Veteran. Dwight lived a long and happy life, especially enjoying country music and line dancing, TV westerns, and spending an avid pastime as the #1 fan of all things “Lone Ranger”.
Mr. Gregory leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Janice (McCarthy) Gregory, his sister, Marilyn Bendtsen, brother in laws Jan Bendtsen and Brian J. McCarthy, three daughters and son in laws, Heather and Lou Frketich of NJ, Dawn and Herbert Ho of CA, and Gwenn and Brian Norman of CT as well several nieces and nephews and 6 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dwight is also pre-deceased by two brothers, Wayne and David Gregory.
Dad, you were, are, and always will be our Hero and now our Guardian Angel.
Funeral services for Mr. Gregory will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at Casey Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care,1987 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow at the State of CT Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with his family on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until the service commences at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Dwight’s memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, www.stjude.org.
