SOUTHINGTON - Thomas F. Teardo, age 81, of Southington, Connecticut , died on Friday, June 26, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Florisa (Verrico) Teardo.

Dr. Thomas Teardo was born October 5, 1944 in Waterbury, Connecticut the son of the late Angelo and Mary Ann (Bauza) Teardo. Tom honorably served in the United States Naval Reserve and held a variety of occupations during his life, most recently having worked for the United States Government. A lifelong musician, his training spanned from jazz to sacred music. He served as Director of Music and Organist at SS Peter & Paul Church for many years, as well as several other Catholic churches in Connecticut and other states. He held degrees from several universities including undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to honor and cherish his memory besides his wife are his daughter, Elizabeth Teardo Begley, sons; Richard Teardo, Thomas Teardo, Jr., and Frederick Teardo, his brother, John Teardo, ten grandchildren, and ten nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Teardo will be held on Friday, July 10 ,2026 at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main St., Waterbury CT. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the basilica. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
