Douglas Peter
England
January 13, 1953 – April 6, 2026
BETHLEHEM- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Douglas Peter England, age 73, of Bethlehem, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Monday, April 6, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Michela “Mickey” L. (Pirro) England.
Douglas was born on January 13, 1953, in Bristol, Connecticut, the son of the late Richard Edward and Jeannine Rose Marie (LeBeau) England. Doug's life was a testament to hard work, compassion, and a profound love for his family and community. For over 30 years, he devoted his professional life to plumbing at George Green Plumbing, working for Ken and Sandy, where his skill and dedication made a lasting impact. Doug's strong work ethic was matched only by his generous spirit, as he was known for helping others in any way he could. He found immense joy in volunteering on mission trips with the First Congregational Church in Woodbury, bringing hope and assistance to communities in places like South Carolina, Alabama, and Maine. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Doug spent countless hours working on his beloved 1958 panhead, a labor of love that exemplified his passion for the open road. He also embarked on a project restoring a vintage Volkswagen, showcasing his love for cars. Doug’s hands were always busy, whether he was taking care of his own property in Bethlehem or mowing the lawn at the Abbey of Regina Laudis for the sisters, where he found fulfillment in nurturing the beautiful grounds or helping out at the Bethlehem food bank.
Left to honor and cherish his memory, beside his wife, Mickey of 44 years, are his sister, Janet and her wife Lisa England of Tennessee and his sister-in-law, Carol England of Wolcott. Doug also leaves behind many beloved friends, including Bob Ferri and the crew at Bethlehem Spirit Shop. Doug was predeceased by his brothers, Jeffrey England and Gary England, as well as his most loved dogs; Snooky and Rudy.
Funeral services for Mr. England will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT, 06705, has been honored to care for the England family during this difficult time. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved Doug to share messages of condolence, comfort, and cherished memories.
