THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF DOROTHY MCKENNA

Devoted To The Blessed Mother

WOLCOTT - Dorothy McKenna, age 84, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at the Southington Care Center on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was surrounded through a long illness by the relentless love and comfort of her family. She was the widow of John McKenna.

Dorothy was born January 26th, 1937 in Saint Agathe, Maine, the daughter of the late Albert and Cecile (Chasse) Lavigne. She was raised in the Waterbury area where she worked for several companies retiring as a deli clerk at Stop & Shop. Dorothy was a woman of deep faith and was devoted to the blessed mother, praying the rosary nightly. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, doing jigsaw puzzles, shopping and dining out with her family, especially at her favorite restaurant, the Olive Garden. She was a long-time fan of UConn Women's Basketball. Always excited to watch a game, she found great joy in cheering for "the girls".

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory, are her children; John McKenna Jr and his wife, Gladys of Harlingen, TX; Kevin McKenna and his wife, Gina of Bristol; and Theresa McKenna of Meriden. She also leaves her sisters; Jo Ann Scursso of Southington and Marie Piccolo of Waterbury. In addition, she leaves her 5 grandchildren; John III and his wife Andrea, Kathleen, Kasey, Ryan, and Bridget as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 siblings.

The McKenna family would like to extend their love and profound appreciation to Genelle Corales, who was Dorothy's treasured friend, constant companion and devoted caregiver for many years.
