Ms. Dorothy A. Cronin

WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Dorothy A. Cronin, age 81, share the news of her passing on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Saint Mary’s Hospital after a long and brave battle.

Dorothy was born on November 22, 1943 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William G. Cronin and Dorothy A. (Lawson) Cronin. She graduated from Crosby High School and was a dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. She worked for the United States Postal Service in the Waterbury office for more than 25 years and was known for her dedication and diligence. She was a generous and loyal friend, and a constant source of strength and support for her family who loved her deeply. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and enjoyed the occasional visit to Mohegan Sun. She looked forward to going on trips with her family, especially the Thanksgiving trips to North Carolina with her niece and nephew, which became a treasured tradition over the past 20 years. She lived her life with integrity and honesty and quiet strength. Those who knew and loved her will carry her with us forever.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her sister; Denise M. (Cronin) (Robinson) Larsen of Watertown, her niece; Catherine Grable and her husband Martin of Davidson, North Carolina, her nephew; Paul Robinson Jr. of Southbury and his children; Kathryn Robinson and Abigail Robinson of Cromwell. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Robert D. Larsen.

Funeral services for Ms. Cronin will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 12 noon at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Relatives and friends may pay their respects and visit with the Cronin family from 10:30 am until the service at 12 noon at the funeral home.
