THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF DORA E. PESTONE
WATERBURY - Dora E. (Sanchi) Pestone, age 94 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with her devoted husband of 72 years by her side after an extended illness. She was the wife of Vito Pestone.
Dora was born on August 13, 1924 in Cheshire CT, the daughter of the late Ignazio and Maria (Turini) Sanchi. A lifelong Waterbury resident, she graduated from Hopeville Grammar School, Crosby High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse at St Marys Hospital for over 50 years. She and her husband were longtime parishioners of SS Peter & Paul Church where she was an active member of the Madonna Guild. Dora loved traveling, playing golf at East Mountain, playing cards especially bridge and bowling. She was a member of the St Marys Nursing School Alumni Assoc.and the Waterbury Senior Center. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Besides her devoted husband of 72 years, Dora leaves her children; William Pestone and his wife Mary Lee of Cohasset MA and Naples FL, Philip Pestone and his wife, Robin of Wilmington NC and Kenneth Pestone and his wife, Ellen of Fairfield CT. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren; Andrea, Nicholas, Matthew, Evan, Holly and Bryan as well as 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pestone will be held on Saturday August 25, 2018 at 8:15 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Old St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Dora's family on Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 pm.
