THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF DONALD YOUNG

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday July 2, 2020 at O'Neill Funeral Home. Due to current government restrictions, only 25 people will be allowed in the building at once. If the building is at capacity, you will be instructed by funeral home staff to wait in your vehicle until its time to process to the cemetery. All attendees will be screened and are asked to wear a mask before entering the building. We thank you for your cooperation during these difficult times.


"Loving Husband and Father"

OAKVILLE - Donald E. Young age 59 passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 30, 2020. He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Dionne) Young.

Donald was born December 10, 1960 in Lock Haven PA, the son of the late Merrill and Dorothy (Butler) Young. Donald loved being outdoors and was a lifelong member of the NRA. He spent most of his free time "tinkering" in his garage or building and fixing things. He graduated from NVCC with an associates degree in computer aided drafting. Donald worked at Amtrak for the past 11 years, fixing trains and making his co workers laugh and smile. Prior to his employment with Amtrak, he spent 23 years working at Plainville Special Tool working his way up from shipping and receiving to tool drafter and led his team through many ISO certifications. He will be most remembered by his infectious laugh, dry humor and caring nature.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his love and memory, besides his wife, Patricia, his daughter, Tabitha Young and his son, John Young. Donald and Patricia were blessed with 2 grandchildren; Aliveya Gebhardt and Trinity Rivera. He is also survived by his extended family: Sherri Miron of Southington, Richard A. Dionne Jr of Southington, Steven M. Dionne of Lodi, WI, Michael E. Dionne of Naugatuck, and mother in law, Geraldine Harvey of Wisconsin, his brother, Harold Young of NY,his sister, Mary Lavery of Clarion, Pa , his brother, George Young of Williamsport, Pa and sister, Debra Demento of Jersey Shore, Pa. along with many nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his brothers, Merrill Young Jr and John Young.

The family would like to express their special thanks and acknowledge, Hartford Healthcare at home for the love, care and professionalism they shared with Donald and his family during his illness.

Due to current government restrictions concerning COVID-19, a Memorial Service for Mr. Young will be held at a later date. The O'Neill Funeral has been honored to care for the Young family. Please remember them and Donald in your prayers during this very difficult time. Memories endure only if you share them.
