WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Donald L. LaVallee Sr., age 64, of Waterbury, shares the news of his passing on Monday, March 23, 2026, after a long courageous illness, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born on May 8, 1961, in Waterbury, Connecticut, the beloved son of the late Arthur W. LaVallee Sr. and Helen A. (Hackerman) LaVallee. He was a lifelong resident of Waterbury and graduated from Kennedy High School and dedicated his career as a factory worker at Eyelematic Manufacturing in Watertown. He once ventured to New York, where he lived out a dream of managing a llama farm, but ultimately returned to Waterbury, where he was surrounded by the family and friends he loved dearly. Donald loved music and had a gift for socializing, as he truly enjoyed visiting and spending time with those who mattered most to him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children; Sharee LaVallee, Donald LaVallee Jr and Bobby Tartaglia, his grandchildren; Julian, Gianna, Nathan, Brianna, Josiah, his siblings; Raymond LaVallee and his wife Nancy, Arthur LaVallee Jr., Laurie Mastros and Lynn Williams and her husband Russ and his significant other Carolyn Butkevich. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings; Jeffrey LaVallee, Roger LaVallee and Lorraine Godomski.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with his family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family. In this time of reflection, the family welcomes all who knew and loved Donald to share messages of condolence and comfort, as well as cherished memories.
