WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of Dolores Ann (Heston) Burnop shares the news of
her unexpected passing at Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family, on November 10, 2025. She was the widow of Kenneth W. Burnop.
Dolores was born April 13th, 1943, in Pittston, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dunne) Heston. Dolores was a proud graduate of Wilby High School and dedicated many years to the restaurant industry. Her career spanned esteemed establishments in the Waterbury area, where she demonstrated her unwavering commitment and passion, ultimately retiring as a manager. Dolores had a radiant love for life, finding joy in the simplest of pleasures — be it nurturing her beloved cats, exploring the beauty of Kauai, Hawaii, or bringing her family together over delicious meals. She was celebrated for her culinary talents, especially her remarkable pizzagain, which will forever linger fondly in the memories of her family gatherings. As we gather to commemorate her remarkable life, let us remember Dolores with hearts full of love and gratitude for the countless memories she has gifted us. May her spirit live on in the hearts of her family and friends, forever guiding them with her warmth and love.
Left to cherish her memory and honor his legacy are her children, Robert Kenneth Burnop and his wife, Susan(Contreras) Burnop of Naugatuck, Brandon Scott Burnop and his wife, Mary of Ocala, FL., her longtime companion, Ralph “Buzz” Devino, with whom she made her home in Middlebury, as well as her sister, ShirleyLacey of Waterbury. Dolores was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, including Bridget Heston Carnemolla, who was like a daughter to Dolores. She was predeceased by her siblings Jean Douty, Suzanne Emanuel, Francis, Joseph, Ronald, George, and Donald Heston.
Funeral services for Dolores will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of ChristianBurial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception 74 West Main St Waterbury Relativesand friends may visit with Dolores’ family on Friday morning at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home &Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705, from 8:30 am until leaving for the service at 9:30 a.m.Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
