Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt
WATERBURY – Diann D. Strong age 82, of Waterbury, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, April 26, 2025 surrounded by the love and care of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Kenneth R. Strong. Diann was born February 23, 1943 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (DiTillo) Petro. Diann embraced the simple pleasures in life. She was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills, which brought her family together around the kitchen table. Her love for family games was always something Diann looked forward to. Diann found great joy in her role as a grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, showering them with love and attention. For birthdays and holidays, Diann would delight in spoiling them with special treats. Many treasured moments were created during family card games and trips to the casino, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air, creating lasting memories they will cherish forever. Diann was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Left to honor her memory and cherish her legacy are her children, Vickki Poveromo and her husband, Joseph, of Naugatuck, Warren Strong and his wife, Inma, of Watertown as well as her three adoring grandchildren, Joseph, Alexandra, and Jacob. She also leaves her siblings; Victoria DeLorenzo of Waterbury, Mary Ann Mulhall and her husband, Terrance, of Waterbury and Robert Petro of Waterbury as well as many nieces, nephews other extended family members and many friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis and Raymond Petro.
Funeral services for Mrs. Strong will be held privately in Warren CT where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ken.
