WATERBURY — It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. David Day Griffiths, age 68, say farewell for now, to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, following his peaceful passing at Waterbury Hospital on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Theresa Marie (Wolfel) Griffiths for nearly 32 years. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

David was born on May 12, 1958, in Milford, Connecticut, the son of the late Happs and Nora Griffiths. David was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, who proudly served his country with honor and integrity. His passion for carpentry led him to extraordinary accomplishments, including his work on notable projects such as structures at the sub-base in New London, Connecticut. He took immense pride in his craftsmanship, often sharing his skills and knowledge with his family, particularly his sons, Brandon and Domenic, teaching them the joys of building and working on cars. David found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for the beach, spent countless hours enjoying the music of his favorite bands, including the Steve Miller Band and Stevie Nicks, and held a special place in his heart for football, passionately cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Known for his great sense of humor and love of joking, David brought smiles to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Left to honor his memory and cherish his legacy beside his devoted wife, Theresa, are his children; Kyle Griffiths and his wife Kara of Bethany, Charlene Horsley of Waterbury, Kirsten Griffiths-Lombardi and her husband Ray of Wallingford, Lauren Roe and her husband Michael Keech of Michigan, Kelly Noonan and her husband Dan Noonan of Raynham, Massachusetts, Domenic Vivas of Waterbury, Brooklyn Vivas of Waterbury, and Brandon Vivas of Waterbury, his siblings; Jimmy Griffithsa nd his wife Cindy of Florida, Richie Griffiths of Milford, Albert Griffiths and his wife Nancy of Hamden, and Pattie Schnieder and her husband Steve of Florida, as well as his cherished eight grandchildren and niece Jamie Griffiths and her husband Jeff. David also leaves behind several cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Funeral services for David will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
