Obituary

WOLCOTT- It is with profound sadness and extraordinarily broken hearts that the family of David Francis Beck, age 85, of Wolcott, shares the news of his passing on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Autumn Lakes at Bucks Hill, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Geigle) Beck.

David was born on May 27, 1940, in Waterbury CT, the son of the late Bernard and Lena (Jamele) Beck. He graduated from Wilby High School where he was well known as an outstanding basketball athlete. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army from 1962–1968, an experience that shaped his dedication, work ethic, and quiet strength throughout his life. Following his time in the Army, he was employed at Uniroyal, Superior Electric, and later ESPN, from which he eventually retired. Known for his kindness and steady presence, David made a lasting impact on colleagues and friends across all the places he worked. David had a lifelong love of sports that went well beyond his high school years. He coached basketball and Little League baseball and also spent time as a basketball referee. Whether mentoring young athletes or calling a game, he brought patience, fairness, and encouragement to every court and field. In his free time, he especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox. A man of faith, David proudly served his church as a Eucharistic minister.

On June 18, 1966, David married the love of his life, Patricia (Geigle) Beck, and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion, partnership, and family. David was a fiercely loyal husband and father who had a capacity to love that was unending. He was a giant of everything good; humility, integrity, and generosity. Rest in peace G Pa as your legacy of love, laughter and caring will endure forever.

Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy besides his beloved wife, Patricia, are his children; Tricia (Chambers) Beck and her husband, Thomas of Wolcott, David Beck and his wife, Tracy Martelotta of Hopkinson, MA, his cherished grandchildren; Eily, Kai, Mackenzie, and Savannah, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended friends and family. David was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Lena (Jamele) Beck, his sister, Lynnia Fiorelli, and his brother, Bernard Beck.

Funeral services for Mr. Beck will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury to St Basil the Great Parish, St Pius X Church 525 Woodtick Rd Wolcott to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with David’s family on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
