WOLCOTT - Dana Durant, age 60, of Wolcott, passed away of natural causes on December 17, 2023 in the comfort of his home.
Dana was born on January 15, 1963, in Middletown to the late Leah (Lougee) Durant and Raymond O. Durant Sr. He was raised in Old Lyme, attended Old Lyme schools, and lived in Middletown for many years. Dana had a career in the automotive industry, working as a Finance Director. He was affectionately nicknamed the “F&I Guru” by his colleagues, which amused him. Prior to that, he worked a number of years as a chef in the restaurant industry, and he maintained his love of cooking throughout his life. He enjoyed his retirement living on Lyman Pond in Wolcott. Dana had a great sense of humor, and he loved his children and grandchildren very much. He will be dearly missed.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Dana Durant Jr. of Old Lyme, Bryanna Gallagher (Sean) of New Jersey, and Logan Durant of Wolcott. In addition to his children, he is mourned by his siblings, Monique Staley (Wayne), Ray Durant (Tamme), and Renee Durant (late John Hubbard). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Erin Durant, Jackson Durant, and Samantha Gallagher, and his nephew Chris Durant (Susan) and niece Grace Cash (Brandon). He is survived by his stepmother, Linda Durant, and his former wife, Lisa Durant.
Funeral services for Mr Durant will be held at the convenience of his family.
