OAKVILLE, CT – Cynthia Corey, age 69, of Oakville passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love and care of her family after a long illness. She was the loving wife of Brian Mazurkivich. 

 Cynthia was born April 11, 1955, in Paterson, NJ the daughter of Durward and Marlyn (Degraaff) Green. She was a graduate of Ramapo Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ, and received her associate’s degree in business administration from Berkely College in NJ. Cynthia spent many years working as a customer service representative for the Bud Schwartz Legal Services and enjoyed volunteering her time at Eastern Children’s in Wycoff NJ, working with disabled children. Despite facing many health challenges, Cynthia's dedication to her family was unwavering. Her warm smile and kind heart left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones and cherished every moment shared with them. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory besides her parents of Thomaston and her husband, Brian, of 18 years are her daughters Allison Corey and her partner, Roger Hammond of Glenwood, NJ, and Rebecca Thompson and her husband, Keith of Monroe, NY. She also leaves her sister, Deborah Copeland and her partner, Robert Schott of Middletown, as well as her two grandchildren, Brielle Hammond and Emily Thompson and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

 Funeral Services for Mrs. Corey will be held on Friday September 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Casey-O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville, Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemtery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit Cynthia’s family on Friday morning from 10:00am until the service at noon at the funeral home.
