WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of Cruz “Cookie” Arce Rosado Santos, share the news of her peaceful passing on November 11, 2025,at Bristol Hospital.
Cookie was born on November 21, 1947, in Penuelas, Puerto Rico. She came to Connecticut at seventeen years old and began building a life that would forever be filled with the love and support of her siblings. Cookie was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, known for her infectious spirit and unwavering joy. Cookie was a vibrant soul who lit up every room she entered. She was not just a favorite among family and friends; she truly was the life of the party. With her charming wit and love for laughter, Cookie had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Her passion for music and dancing was unmatched, and she often danced through life, igniting joy in the hearts of those around her. She took great pride in her heritage and actively participated as a parishioner of the Church of God on East Main Street in Waterbury, where her faith provided her with strength and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her family and friend.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories are her siblings, Norma Gonzalez and her husband Jose of Florida, Carmen Bultes, Roberto Arce, Angel Arce and his wife Milagros, and Luis Arce and his wife Maria, all of Waterbury, CT; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends. Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, Luis Arce and Catalina Santos; her brother Monserate Arce; as well as her sisters Luz Santos and Maria Caravallo.
Let us remember Cookie not in sadness, but in gratitude for the laughter, love, and light she shared with us all. May she dance forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Cookie’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 18. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Cookie’s family from 10:00 a.m. until leaving for the cemetery at 12:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705.
