Beloved mother and grandmother

WATERBURY - Crucita Rodriguez, age 82 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love and care of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Victor Rodriguez.

Crucita was born May 4th 1939, in Utuado Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Felipe Viruet and Dominga Rivera. Crucita spent many years working as a seamstress and settled in the Waterbury area in 1969 where she worked at Bendix Corporation. She loved to read, especially her daily bible readings while she prayed the rosary and also enjoyed listening to music and watching Novelas. Crucita was also a devout catholic and was a long time, active parishioner of Sacred Heart "Sagrado Corazon" Church, where she was a part of the Cursillo, and also part of a El Cristo de Los Milagros. What brought the greatest joy to Crucita was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Crucita will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughters; Sandra E. Rodriguez and Luz N. Rodriguez, both of Waterbury. She also leaves her four sisters; Blanca Maldonado, Nelly Fontanez, Gloria Cruz and Alicia Viruet, her grandchildren; Leticia Calderon, Sharina Calderon, and Nykesha A. Olen and her great granddaughter, Gabriella Zurita as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rodriguez will be held on Friday. January 14, 2022 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at "Todos los Santos", All Saints/St Anne's Church, 515 South Main St. Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury, Relatives and friends may visit with Crucita's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT. 06705. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services regardless of your current vaccination status.
